The learning environment offers a quiet yet powerful invitation—to explore, to wonder, and to investigate. When designed with intentionality and responsiveness to children’s questions, ideas, and working theories, the environment becomes a catalyst for curiosity, challenge, and connection.
The way we organise space, position furniture, and select materials communicates what we value. Thoughtfully designed environments support children to revisit ideas, test theories, and engage in learning in multimodal ways. More than a backdrop, the environment becomes an active participant in teaching and learning.
Rich in practical application and grounded in deep pedagogical ideas, this series supports how to take action as much as it supports you to reimagining your view of the environment.
"Spaces speak...Even though we cannot hear the walls or floors talking, the equipment conversing, or the materials and resources chattering, they are indeed speaking to us. They are offering a conversation that influences how we behave, react, engage and even think."
Duncan, Martin & Keith, 2016.
TESTIMONIALS
"Through this course I have been able think about how we current set up our environments and now how we can look at it through other lenses. The think big and think small framework is clear and enables you to create inviting spaces, using nature, open ended resources and documentation. Really enjoyable and practical course."
Katie Johannesen
"I found KGlearning to be informative, interesting and thought provoking."
