About the event
Educational Leadership - people, pedagogy and practice
This course is designed for educational leaders who want to move beyond managing practice and step confidently into leading pedagogy with purpose.
Packed with practical, research-informed strategies, this series supports leaders and teams to strengthen organisation, communication and relational impact. At its core, the course invites you to lead by enabling your team to more fully engage their professional agency, collective potential and shared inquiry.
Leading pedagogy with a strong purpose requires deep awareness of what we say, what we do, and how we do it, because these micro encounters create your pedagogical culture. When leaders walk alongside their teams, rather than ahead of them, innovation, trust and professional growth flourish. Through collaboration and dialogue, educators are supported to rethink, unlearn and relearn, strengthening practice in meaningful and sustainable ways.
Research is clear: effective educational leadership improves outcomes for children and builds resilient, reflective pedagogical teams. This course brings that research to life in practical, human and achievable ways. We'll cover the following topics:
The role of educational leadership What do I focus on: teaching quality, conversations for change, learning together
Leadership as coaching
Shared goals, companionship and experiential learning – not audits and templates
Building a pedagogical culture
Positive emotional and relational environments where curiosity and research thrive
Leading pedagogical change
Readiness, time, resistance and rethinking a recipe for success
Navigating courageous conversations
Psychological safety, intellectual honesty and kindness
Reflection and questions
A comprehensive hard-copy learning booklet is included
“Pedagogical leaders embody the dispositions for inquiry and call these
dispositions forward in educators: dispositions to marvel, to doubt, to make mistakes, to stand open to others and to everything that is new”
